Making the Business Case for Public Cloud
3:00-5:30pm, Wednesday 19th May 2010, The British Library, London NW1

3.00 pm Registration and networking over coffee
3.30 pm Introduction

3.35 pm Talk: Situation normal, everything must change by Simon Wardley, Researcher at the Leading Edge Forum

Simon explains the commoditisation of IT through cloud computing: why it is happening, how will clouds impact IT, and the associated benefits (and risks).

3.50 pm Talk: Cloud Computing:A business proposition or formula for world peace?" by Tony Lucas, Founder, Flexiant

Given the promise of "the Cloud", why is there so much confusion about this "promise"? Why the burgeoning Cloud "industry" is its own worst enemy is failing to drive home the simplicity of the promise to a very recepitive market place.

4.10 pm Panel. Simon and Robert are joined by Jim Liddle of SMEStorage and Gigaspaces and Steve Hughes of Colt Technology Services in a discussion with attendees of the topics raised.

4.50 pm Networking
5.30 pm Finish

This is the sixth of our regular monthly EuroCloud UK events -- all free to members. Future topics will include The user's perspective on SaaS and cloud; Comparing cloud platforms; Influence in Europe; and Making the transition to SaaS. Other membership benefits include reduced rates on partner services and conferences, enhanced visibility as an industry player and the chance to influence the profile of the industry.

Annual membership costs as little as £400.
